Workshop Goal: Photograph an image of the milky way.
The workshop will consist of:
- Online self paced study guide with pre-workshop homework
- Require & recommended gear list
- Guidance setting up gear
- Discussion of all the steps to plan for photographing the Milky Way
- Hands on actual photographing the Milky Way
- List of applications for planning Milky Way shoot.
- Shooting for image stacking.
My teaching method is K.I.S. - Keep It Simple & hands on as mush as possible.
My 1st Milky Way Photo
I when out to see if I could capture Comet Neowis. I then just turned my camera around and there it was.
INTRODUCTION
Since the weather is key and unpredictable factor in astro photography and has lead to many scheduled cancellations because of cloud cover while developing of this workshop. These workshops will be an "on call" basis. This meas that a range of dates will be given, then on a night it is actually clear you will be notified (FB messinger) that a session will take place.

Workshop Prerequisites - What you need to know before
- It's important to do the activities of the "Pre Workshop Homework"
- The main prerequisite is that you know what the effects are for changing ISO, aperture and shutter speed on an image. If you don't know what the latter means or, sorry, you are not ready for this workshop. Please see my social media feed for my Camera Basics Workshop, that will prepare you.
- Gear - Tripod and a camera with self timer.
- Due to prior personal commitments, workshops will not be held on Mondays and Fridays.
Booking
Book for the time window you can attend in person on any of the dates for that full time window.
When a cloudless night is forecast you will be contacted to show up for that night. Failure to appear for that clear night your deposit will not be refunded. So, please make sure that you can make it on one of the given windows. Pick one of the date widows for 2024.

- August 6 - August 19 - Moonless with Milky Way
- September 5 - September 17 -Moonless with partial Milky Way
Due to prior personal commitments, workshops will not be held on Mondays and Fridays - these dates are excluded from deposit loss.
